Delete your account

Last updated: September 2026

You can delete your CragLocal account at any time, from inside the app or by emailing us. Deletion is permanent and immediate — there is no waiting period and no way for us to restore an account afterwards.

In the app

  1. Open CragLocal and sign in.
  2. Open the account menu and go to Settings.
  3. Tap Delete account at the bottom of the screen.
  4. Confirm when prompted.

You'll be signed out straight away and the account will already be gone by the time you return to the sign-in screen.

By email

If you can no longer sign in, email hello@craglocal.app from the address linked to your account and we'll delete it for you. We'll confirm once it's done.

What gets deleted

  • Your account and sign-in credentials, including any linked Google or Apple identity.
  • Your profile — name, avatar image and settings.
  • Your logged ascents, ratings and proposed grades.
  • Your chat messages in chapter chats.
  • Your chapter subscriptions and any push notification tokens for your devices.
  • Feedback you submitted and your usage history.

What we keep

  • Aggregated, anonymised statistics — figures that can no longer be tied back to you, such as the total number of ascents recorded on a route.
  • Guidebook content — if you manage a chapter, the crags, sectors, routes, news and places you published belong to that chapter and stay with it. Deleting your account removes your access, not the region's guidebook.
